Liam R. Findlay
Immersive Scenting Consultant and Advocate

Picture
My name is Liam, and I am an Immersive Scenting Consultant for theme parks, museums and escape rooms.
I guide attractions seeking the best scenting solutions for their projects, currently working under AromaPrime. This guidance can be accompanied by research, scent development and the provision of equipment. You can see examples of projects I have been fortunate to work on here.
A passion of mine is sharing knowledge about this niche area, giving talks and workshops. If this would be of interest to you, I would be delighted to discuss your ideas.
In my spare time, I research the history and uses of scent in attractions around the world, and I am writing a beginner's guide that I hope will give more practitioners the confidence to embrace the power of scent.

Seeking expert insight for your article, news or documentary?

I have been delighted to offer my input on the topic of scents for publications like The Guardian and The Wall Street Journal. Please feel free to get in touch if you would like to chat!

International Themed Smell Day

Picture
Take part in July! Share your themed smell encounters and projects on social media with #InternationalThemedSmellDay
In 2026, I was pleased to establish International Themed Smell Day. This is an opportunity for attractions and experiences to showcase their innovative uses of smells for immersion and storytelling.
The Day itself is on 11th July, the anniversary of  the Timber Mountain Log Ride at Knott's Berry Farm. This was one of the first ever scented theme park rides, in 1969!

The Doom Town Dummies Novel

My children's novel The Doom Town Dummies follows the misadvanture of Collete Planchette, who can speak to the dead through a supernatural sense of smell!
